Geoclimatz is a youth-led hub dedicated to empowering youth and women to adopt data-driven decision-making in addressing climate change, while promoting gender equality and inclusivity. Founded on April 23, 2024, in Morogoro, Tanzania, Geoclimatz equips youth with geospatial knowledge and tools to actively engage in climate action and become agents of change for resilience and sustainability.

Tanzania, with a population of 61.7 million people including 31.7 million women (19.7 million in rural areas) and 21.3 million youth aged 15–35 years, representing 34.5% of the total population, faces profound challenges from climate change, including erratic rainfall, floods, droughts, and rising temperatures that undermine agriculture, water security, health, and livelihoods.
Women, while central to household food security, remain constrained by unequal access to land, technology, income, and decision-making processes, which increases their vulnerability and workload. Similarly, the country's large youth population remains underutilized due to limited skills, opportunities, and participation in climate governance. Weak climate knowledge, low utilization of data, and insufficient community awareness further hinder inclusive and sustainable adaptation.
In response to this, Geoclimatz advances gender-responsive climate action by empowering women as leaders, equipping youth with skills in climate-smart agriculture, renewable energy, and green entrepreneurship, mainstreaming climate education and community training, strengthening access to and use of climate data for evidence-based decision-making, and fostering locally-led solutions that place women and youth at the center while building partnerships with government, private sector, and civil society to achieve scalable, sustainable climate resilience.
